Episode 21 The Cosplay Get-along Grand Plan

"Okay! Now then, everyone. Are you all prepared!?"

"I sure am, Aone-chan"

"Of course, I am too"

"Uh-huh. If not I would not come after all"

After hearing the details of a certain plan from Aone, I spoke to Miya and Kenta. By the way, the only people who know the details of the plan are Aone and I.

Why did Aone tell me such a thing? I do think that she trusts me but......don't tell me she realized that I knew Rio's true identity. I am curious, but for now, I should concentrate on what's in front of me, the plan.

"T-This is......"

Of course, Ryou, also known as Hakumine-senpai also came. He is an important person to the plan after all. And,  about where we were visiting with such a serious atmosphere

"Now! This here is a cosplay specialty store!! Let us cosplay to our hearts' contenttt!!"

Yes. We traveled slightly far away to visit a store that specializes in cosplay.

To explain in simple terms, the plan this time is to teach Hakumine-senpai that crossdressing even if you are a man is not weird. Through this, we will build up his confidence.

That said, it is not easy. First, we cosplay as usual while deepening our bonds, I then crossdress to give him the impression that there are quite a few people who crossdress so it is not weird.

It is easy merely to explain. However, if we put the plan into action, it will then depend on the perfection of my crossdressing.

I have never crossdressed before and, I am speaking for myself, but for me, who is tall and burly, to crossdress......will it go well?

I think that it may just suit Kenta better. Kenta has quite a bit of muscle but he is slim so.

"Whoaaa! Every single one of them is a costume I have seen before in anime!"

"This is a famous store after all. I do come here together with my friend from time to time"

"Ohhh......The color palette is amazing. As expected of a costume from the two-dimensional world!"

Everyone is very interested in the cosplay costumes.

Regarding the person in question, Hakumine-senpai......

"Th-This is cute"

Looks like he is enjoying himself. Well then, we must now progress things carefully. First up is.

"Rei-senpai! This! This will surely suit senpai!"

Aone brought over a somewhat Chuunibyou-esque costume that has black as its base. The pants have holes all over and there is also a belt with a skull ornament.

"Looks fine no? Rei looks like a gangster after all"

"What you say?"

"If Rei is wearing that costume, then mine's this!" Miya said, a white sailor uniform in her hand.

It will not look like much of a cosplay with only that but there will not be a problem if she uses something like a wig. Well, Miya does not need it though.

"The fusion of black and white! It is actually a character costume from the same anime so it is a good match"

"Well then, Kenta-senpai shall wear this expendable role's"

"Wait! I shall wear this"

As I never cosplayed even once in my life, I too was very interested in the clothes that line the store. From anime I had watched in the past to the newest ones. The impression that common people have of cosplays is that they are self-made. However, there are specialty stores like this throughout the country where anyone is able to wear cosplay costumes.

"Is there any costume you are interested in Rio?"

While Miya, Kenta, and Aone were arguing about this and that, I started talking with Hakumine-senpai, who was looking at the costumes silently. It seems like he is looking at the costumes of magical girls.

"There is just so much......"

"Does Rio watch shows like anime?"

"Y-Yes. A lot of costumes that are unimaginable come out in anime so my heart races just by watching them. Ah, I do, of course, enjoy anime okay?"

It seems like he is not nervous, unlike his first time.

Well then, at this rate.

"Alright. Let us try them out right away"

"Okay! I also found a costume I wanna try out!"

"So, a wig, was it? Are you going to wear that as well?"

"That is up to the individual. Here I go!" Aone said as she rushed into a fitting room.

With Miya already gone as well, only Kenta, Hakumine-senpai, and I remain.

"Even so, cosplay costumes suree are expensive, you know"

"That is true. That said, it seems like there are also second-hand ones, so there are also people who are not averse to those and they would probably buy the cheap ones"

After that, having decided on my costume as well, I went to try it on.

One could get make-up done if one tells the staff but, in my case, there is no need for that.

I will only change into the costume for now. Due to this, I even finished before Miya and Aone, who started trying out theirs earlier.

"Whoa, Rei-kun. You sure look cool!"

"That so?"

"Yeah. You look somewhat like a common delinquent"

"That is because it is the costume of that type of character"

The one I tried out is a costume, chosen by Aone, of a delinquent character. By the way, as he has special powers, he wraps his arms to seal the power of darkness.

"That aside, you are still choosing huh?"

"Yeah. I love anime so I must choose carefully"

Such serious eyes. As expected, a true Otaku is different.

"I have kept you all waiting!"

"Ohhhh! That costume is!?"

Aone then appears. She was wearing a Kunoichi1 costume that appears in a Slice-of-Life anime. She wore a wig over her hair that was two-toned and it is now blonde.

"How is it? A complete change from me who usually has her guard up! A transformation into the sexy me!!"

"Good job!! It suits you very well! Rightt, Rei!"

"Yeah. It suits you perfectly even in terms of height"

"It is a shame but I am a centimeter taller than the original character you know!"

Something that subtle......

"Next up, it is time for my appearance as well!!"

Miya appears just as Aone was boasting about being a centimeter taller in height. Just like me, she wears the first costume she picked.

A white sailor uniform that pairs with the costume I am wearing. Even the characters wearing them have a deep connection with each other; She is the heroine as well as the rival. By the way, she also has the same hair color as Miya, so Miya does not wear a wig like Aone and is ever closer to resembling her just by tying up her hair into a ponytail.

"How is this?"

"Ohhh, I did think it would suit you but this is beyond what I imagined"

"You are wonderful Miya-senpai"

"Now Ren! Now is the time to decide the victor and the loser!" Miya recites her line while getting into character enthusiastically.

Ren is the name of the character who wears the costume I am wearing.

Can't be helped, this is also for the sake of leading the plan to success.

"Hmph, I shall defeat you and stand at the top! Prepare yourself, Byakura!"

"I can see it! I definitely can see it! That famous scene!"

"......And welp, let us leave it at that. We will trouble the store if we cause a commotion"

"Righttt"

However, this was effective against Hakumine-senpai. He clapped softly, seemingly moved by our acting.

"Alright! I shall ride this atmosphere and try mine on!!"

Having finally decided on the costume he will wear as well, Kenta takes the costume and rushes off.

"Did you find a costume you want to wear Rio-chan?"

"Erm......There were several but"

"Then let's wear them!"

"B-But"

"I will look for a w-while more," Hakumine-senpai said after looking between the costumes and us.

He puts some distance between us once again and starts choosing his costume.

Hmm, there is still a wall between us.
