Episode 28 Encounter

"Bon appétiiit!!"

"Bon appétit!"

Lunch time. We came to a family restaurant. It was also Golden Week, so it was crowded as we had expected, and it felt like we had finally managed to find seats somehow.

Here, Miya treated me as she had said earlier. She told me to order without holding back, so I chose the slightly more expensive cheese hamburg steak with a large portion of rice.

Bring more of it onnn!, or so she said, but I did order this without holding back.

And, Miya ordered a rice omelette topped with beef stew sauce, salad, and pizza.

It seems like she ordered the pizza so she could eat it together with me.

"Mmm! This beef stew sauce suree is irresistible"

"Want to try including it at the café?" I said as I cut the hamburg steak with a knife.

"Welll......"

She ponders as she stares at the omelette rice.

"Let's leave it as 'Considering!'"

Well, if it's Miya, she'd probably come up with an original using her intriguing thought process.

"It sure was delicious huh"

"Was that really alright? It was a rare opportunity, so a more expensive place would also have been"

"I-It is alright. If the place is too expensive, erm, I would not be able to relax. You could say it is the store's atmosphere......"

Hm? I hear a familiar voice from the table beside me.

When I turned to take a look.

"Ah-"

"Hm?"

I met eyes with the owners of the voices. With caps and glasses, the male and female pair were dressed in outfits that looked like disguises.

They look very familiar, though.

"Something up?"

"Nope"

The pair left just like that. Curious about their attitude, I used my ability to take a look to find...

......I see. Just when I thought that they looked familiar, it seems like they were the ones engaging in that forbidden love, Kimura-sensei and Etou-senpai. Guess they were on what people call a secret date.

|It's as if they are celebrities, huh|

|They are teacher and student, though|

I think they probably knew, as we were not disguising ourselves or anything.

I wonder what they are thinking right now. It probably is along the lines of wondering, with their hearts racing, if they were found out as they did wear disguises. 

Kimura-sensei had replaced his usual glasses with sunglasses and was wearing his cap pulled down, and Etou-senpai had tied her hair and was wearing glasses.

They won't be found out, unless the person looks at their faces often, I guess?

"D-Don't tell me the two people earlier!"

Miya opened her eyes wide, as if she had realized something.

"Were they perhaps famous people?!"

"Ahh, I wonder"

"But, but, it happens quite often, right? The kind where they disguise themselves and go on a secret date!"

The secret date part is correct. However, they are a teacher from the high school we go to and an upperclassman, though. I should shut this away in my heart for now.

"Hey, it will get cold if you do not eat soon"

"Mumu. Wonder who they are......"

Miya lost her appetite as she was curious about the two of them even after that.

I guess the two of them also went to a place that is slightly further away because they did not want to get found out. The possibility of us running into them again later......seems likely, I guess. It was like that with Hakumine-senpai as well; Events tend to trigger near me oddly often, huh.

Well then, how will the afternoon go?

After finishing lunch, we have come to a certain place.

"Ohhhh, quite the mystifying scenery"

"An aquarium, huh"

That's right, an aquarium.

There is no aquarium back in our town, so this is our first aquarium visit.

I have seen them before on the internet and TV, but, as expected, seeing one with the naked eye really is different.

"It's a c-crab! There's a crab!! ......Looks delicious"

"Erm, just saying, you cannot eat it"

We exercised to our hearts' content in the morning at the batting center and the like, so we decided to take it easy during the afternoon and searched what to do on the internet beforehand.

"Sure is amazing, huh. To think there are so many types of fish"

Hoooo, or so Miya let out a breath as we looked at the fishes swimming elegantly above us.

"This can be said for zoos as well, but raising animals sure looks tough"

"Uh-huh, uh-huh. The cost of feed is probably not cheap as well"

On top of raising animals, which is probably tough enough as is, this place has a merchandise shop and a café among other things, and there are even events being held here.

We could not even begin to imagine how challenging it must be.

We should buy their merchandise when we head back to support them ever so slightly.

"Ah"

It was at that time. A voice leaked out from Miya's mouth.

She stopped at that very spot she was, as if she had found something.

Did she find some rare breed of fish?, or so I thought as I shifted my gaze towards the same direction.

"Urk"

Straight ahead was......Kimura-sensei and Etou-senpai.

Oh dear. To think my ominous hunch was spot on.

"The pair from earlier, right? To think that we would meet them here......Let's try talking to them, shall we?"

"Hey, wait"

"Eh? What's up?"

Don't "What's up" me. Since it is Miya, she won't spread the word about it, I guess.

It is best for us to leave this place, acting as if we did not see anything. However, Miya's curiosity is now drawn to the pair rather than the fish.

How do I draw her attention back to me?

"Listen here, Miya. It is common etiquette to leave people who are on a secret date, just like them, alone. The people around them would find out, causing a huge panic, if you call out to them and they are actually famous people"

"T-That is true......! The happiness of the two will be crushed to bits......"

"Yeah, that is right. So, what we should do here is"

"Umu. In hopes of their tranquil happiness, we shall leave coolly"

Okay, managed to get through it somehow, huh. However, if this happened, there is no way that something like meeting again somewhere else is......no, it is possible. I think about it, so it becomes a reality.

"Oh, Childhood Friend! It seems like we can see fish from the deep sea!!"

"Alright, let's go, shall we?"

"Gooo! Gooo!!"

......It's not there.

When I used my ability to look at Miya, the arrow, which was there in the morning, was gone.

Then, is Miya the personality right now? ......Is it not that she never had another personality in the first place? In that case, all her actions up until now would have been done by Miya herself.

|We are doing it, of course. It is the most effective in luring out a well-hidden prey after all|

The biggest event. That would be me staying over at Miya's house once again. However, the biggest difference is the fact that I will be awake. In other words, this is a strategy of pretending to be asleep and waiting for Miya to come over.

All is good if she falls for it, but......I wonder what will happen.
