Just then, the screen changed, the words 'Fario Kart' popped up on the screen along with some upbeat music.

The girls seemed to be enjoying themselves as they chatted excitedly with one another. Kikyou navigated the menus while joining in on the conversation from time to time.

"......For the course......I should select this because it's easy......" Kikyou murmured as he selected some options: The simplest, an ellipse course, and no NPCs to start off.

The character selection screen was up next.

"Alright, let's select the character each of us would be controlling," Kikyou said.

He then taught them how to use the controller and gave a simple explanation of how to play the game. Whether it was because the girls were quick learners, they understood the gist of it from this, and they proceeded to choose their favorite characters while staring intently at the screen.

"I shall choose this wonderful, bearded man," Lumia said as she chose Fario, the man with a red cap.

"Lew will choose......this one......who looks strong," Lew said as she chose King Gowser, Fario's rival.

"Alright......I felt a jolt, so I'll choose this one!" Shea said as she chose Dunkey, the brown gorilla.

"I shall......choose this girl then," Saki said as she chose Princess Beach, the captive in Fario games.

After confirming that everyone had chosen their characters, Kikyou nodded before choosing his partner, Hyoshi, a certain green dinosaur.

The menu changed.

It was here that Kikyou explained the basic controls, item names, and their effects. They decided to learn the rest as they race.

And so, the time for the first race was finally here.

The countdown started.

Just then, as if Kikyou just recalled something—

"Ah, I forgot to tell you, but you will get a speed boost if you time your launch with the count and do it well," He said.

Everyone nodded after they heard his words. They stared at the screen with serious expressions on their faces, waiting for the race to start.

With the count reaching zero, everyone managed to nail the timing and got the speed boost. Shea, however, was the only one who missed the timing and stalled her kart's engine

And so, the race began.
