Episode 3 The Cat Ninja Expresses Interest

In the darkness lit up by the moonlight, two girls were sitting at the top of the jungle gym.

One of them was Akaba Aone. She wrapped her hands around a warm can of cocoa with steam coming out of it, and was drinking from it little by little.

"So? What will you do?" She asked Kokone, who was sitting with her back against hers.

Kokone pulled down her cat face mask and ate a frankfurter in one bite.

"I'll investigate"

"I knew ittt," Aone replied as she broke into a knowing smile.

"There is something mysterious about that Mister. Aone hangs out with Mister because you think so too, right?" 

"Ehhhh? I only hang out with Rei-senpai because I feel like many fun things would happen when I'm with him," Aone was all smiles as she explained merrily.

I'll do that for now, or so Kokome murmured after she looked at Aone acting like that.

She then spun her body once as she jumped off the jungle gym.

"Are you gonna investigate right now?"

"Of course"

"Do it in moderationnn"

Kokone nodded silently before disappearing into the darkness.

"I don't think it'll be that easy to gather information thoughhh. Phewww, so warmmm"

. . . .

"Fwahh, so sleepy"

I lacked sleep as I stayed up late to play with Cuare 

It was troublesome with her whining that it's a new fighting game, so I should battle her......

Even though I have school...

Well, I was playing reluctantly at first, but I got serious after fighting for two to three rounds.

And so, after that, it was a continuous cycle of Cuare losing and getting frustrated.

And, in the end, we battled nonstop until it was past two in the morning.

"You look tired"

"Yeah. I played games until it was a little late......"

Hm? That voice earlier was...

"Morning"

"Whoa-!"

Kokone was beside me before I had even realized.

Huh? Kinda feels like a déjà vu?

However, it is thanks to this that my sleepiness was blown away.

My body still feels sluggish, though.

"W-What's wrong?"

"I've got something I wanted to tell Mister"

"If that's the case, wouldn't it have been fine if you used your phone like you normally would? We did go out of our way to exchange contacts after all"

After Aone introduced Kokone, we exchanged contacts 

"Because I was nearby"

"Did you have something to do?"

"Yeah. Investigating something"

Investigating something......Don't tell me she's investigating me...

I already know that Kokone is a ninja. It was the same last time as it was this time. 

She was there when I realized.

It is as if she is a ninja, is she not?

When I used my ability on Kokone once again to check, she was a ninja, as expected.

To be exact, it shows Student | Ninja.

It was the same for Aone, but does this mean that they are students while working as ninjas at the same time? Or are they working as ninjas and are students at the same time?

"So, what is it that you wanted to tell me?"

"......"

"Kokone?"

It seems like she wanted to tell me something, but she only stared at me and remained silent.

W-What is this? Is she telling me to read between the lines?

"See you"

"Eh?"

In the end, she runs off without saying anything.

"What in the world was that?"

I stood there, not knowing what was going on.

They do say that cats are whimsical, so did Kokone decide not to tell me on a whim?

"So sleepy......"

Sitting on top of a messy Futon, Cuare rubbed her heavy eyelids.

"Huh?"

Cuare, who had just woken up, noticed something.

Shifting her gaze to the window with the curtain closed, she tilted her head.

"Ahhhh, this means someone's coming"

As Rei had told her time and again, Cuare had reflected and came up with a way to not get found easily.

She put a barrier around the apartment's surroundings. Cuare would notice when a suspicious person enters the boundary of that barrier.

"Geez......"

And, noticing this, Cuare immediately abandoned her human form and became a deity.

By returning to her deity form, she cannot be perceived by humans.

However, that is not the only thing this time.

All of the traces that Cuare is there will vanish too.

"Ah, they entered"

A suspicious person has entered after quickly picking the lock of the front door.

They are wearing a cat face mask to hide their face, but Cuare knows who they are.

"Ahh, the rumored cat-eared hoodie girl"

She is hiding her face, but it is obvious because of the cat-eared hoodie.

|Heeey, Reiii|

|Cuare, huh. What is it? If it's breakfast, I've already made-|

|I'll eat that later. Rather than that, that girl wearing a cat-eared hoodie has trespassed, you knowww|

Just in case, she reports it to Rei.

At this rate, she cannot eat breakfast, so Cuare decides to play games to kill time until Kokone is gone.

Even if all of the traces are gone, Cuare herself can see and can even touch them. Even games can be played without any issues.

|She probably thinks that Rei is suspicious, so she wants to investigate all sorts of things, I think|

Kokone starts searching from the kitchen, and Cuare looks at this out of the corner of her eye while playing her game.

After she finished investigating the kitchen, Kokone went to the room at the back.

Cuare's breakfast should have been on the table, but Kokone cannot see that. 

Just saying, Cuare could eat as she is right now, but she would not get the satisfaction of having a full belly like a human body would.

|You're doing a proper job trying not to get found, right?|

|Of courseee. I'm a deity who does not repeat her mistakesss. Ah, a rare material dropped|

Kokone approaches the Cuare, who was lying down.

However, she passes through Cuare.

"There's nothing suspicious...... Feels like he's living alone"

|Won't she leave alreadyyy|

|Don't let your guard down. Hide yourself well until Kokone is gone|

|If that's the case, I have a good idea|

|Good idea?|
