Episode 22 The Cosplay Get-along Grand Plan 2

"Ohhh, it suits you surprisingly well"

"Heh, right?"

"Yeah, you look normal though"

"Uh-huh, I look normal though......is that even a compliment?"

Having come to a Cosplay specialty store, Ryou was looking at Rei, Miya, Kenta, and Aone, pleasantly talking to one another, from a distance.

The four of them have already worn their costumes and have gotten used to the store. However, Ryou has yet to wear a costume. He has gotten a little less nervous but has not gotten used to the store unlike the four of them.

(I am sort of cosplaying in the first place after alll)

He is wearing clothes for women and has put on make-up. Cross-dressing as a male and cross-dressing as a female are forms of cosplaying in some sense.

"Ah, this is cute"

As he looked at the four of them with envious eyes, his eyes stopped at a costume that piqued his interest.

The costume is cute, like those worn by an idol, but it also has a cool side. Unlike the clothing he usually wears, the accessory stands out but he thinks that, that in itself is fine.

"That's right! Let the next one be girls cross-dressing as men! And boys cross-dressing as women!"

"Eh!?"

It was at such a time. Miya's words made Ryou turn his head with such vigor that it felt like an afterimage of his face would remain.

"Oh, that is a good one" Kenta agreed enthusiastically.

"Well, I am fine with that as well"

"I am also interested in dressing as a male so get me on board that suggestion!"

Rei and Aone agreed as well.

Hearing that conversation made Ryou feel like some of his doubts had been cleared. This is because he was always thinking that his cross-dressing self was weird. His family does approve of it but who even knows what the people around him think.

There were ways to find out such as by searching on the internet though.

What will he even do if it is filled with disapproving opinions?, or so he pessimistically thought and could not bring himself to search it up.

However, there is a male, other than himself, at this moment, right in front of him, trying to cross-dress.

"How about it, Rio-chan?"

A question from Miya. This is, of course, most likely one of, 'Are you willing to dress as a male?'. Everyone views the Ryou right now as a female. Dress as a male. In other words, do away with his cross-dressing and return to his former male self.

"......I will do it"

This might just expose him as a cross-dressing male. This is quite the dangerous act.

However, even if that is so, this might be the chance for me to change myself, or so he thought as he nodded his head.

"Alrrriiight! Well then, how about each male pick a female's, while each female pick a male costume?"

"Sounds good. But is that alright? Our sense of clothing will be questioned you know?"

"Heh. Be prepared okay? I will choose a really, extremely cool costume!"

Just like this, the costume selection started once again. The differences between this and the one at the start are that they now choose for another person and that the costume must be one for cross-dressing. This is probably harder than choosing a costume for oneself.

"Whoaa, I did not think that Miya-senpai would be the one to bring it up"

"Eh? About what?"

"Ah, no, no. It is nothing. Oh? This looks like it suits Rei-senpai"

"How is it?"

"Hmm. cross-dressing as a female. Isn't the make-up too much?"

"That so? That said, you......whoaa, it suits you shockingly well"

"What do you mean by shockingly? Anyway, the two of them. Why are they not cross-dressing as males?"

I have cross-dressed as planned. It is different from the original plan but Aone has said that there is no problem. The main objective of the plan is to teach Hakumine-senpai that cross-dressing is not that weird and have him build up his confidence.

"It is the order, the order. We will first observe Senpais' cross-dressing as females and give our opinion before we cross-dress as males"

"The two of you, I am sorry okay? We will definitely cross-dress as males later so"

"There is no helping it huhh"

That said, even though I am wearing a long skirt, my legs feel slightly airy. Or rather, the fabric rubs against my legs, leaving me with an indescribable feeling.

It was at that moment when Hakumine-senpai was about to speak. The voice of a totally unrelated person echoes throughout the store. Wondering who it is, I shift my gaze in that direction to find a Yankee-like man who clearly has no interest in Cosplay.

"Hey, what is up with you all of a sudden!" Aone shouted, biting back at the man who cut in.

"I'm sayin’ it's disgusting. Males wearing female clothing, even putting on make-up!"

"Huhh? Ain't that up to the freedom of the person"

Even Kenta was glaring at the man who appeared all of a sudden and insulted us.

This is bad. This air......

"Haa, ugh, it's so disgusting that my mood's ruined. Something like cross-dressing's really disgusting!"

After saying whatever he pleased, the man quickly leaves the store.

Just what is that man?

Wondering what kind of prick he was, I used my ability to check and there was something that was a first for me. The heartmark—proof that he has a lover—had a cross over it.

What in the world is that......

|Ahh, that is proof that they broke up. That person probably got rejected by his girlfriend recently|1

In other words, that person insulted us to rid himself of his grief? What a ridiculous prick.

"What is up with that prick? Did he come here just to ridicule people?"

"It is probably just that something bad happened to him. There sureee are people like that. Being violent to, or yelling at others to rid themselves of their grief"

To the masses, Golden Week starts from today. Despite that, he got rejected by his girlfriend so he got annoyed looking at other people looking overjoyed.

"......"

This is bad. Because of that man earlier, Hakumine-senpai is.

"Say" Rio starts talking with a clearly unenergetic voice.

"W-What is it? Rio"

"Does everyone think that males who cross-dress are disgusting?"

Saying it that straightforwardly, has he gotten desperate? If he says something like this right here and now......No, but.

"......I do not think so. Kenta said so earlier but what a person wears is up to the freedom of the person. That is even more so if it suits them. Say, the three of you think so too, right?"

This might be a chance. This is different from the plan Aone made but I should go ahead as is.

"Right. Bessiiddes, there are a lot of people who cross-dress as females you know? I have seen people cross-dressing as females online from time to time and there are many times where I went 'Eh? He is a man? For real?'" or so Kenta said while cross-dressed.

"Uh-huh, uh-huh. In the first place, there being a culture for cross-dressing as females means that society recognizes it. It would be a lie to say that there is nobody who is averse to it just like the man earlier though. We should let those people say what they like. Right Aone-chan?"

"Exactly. While you two are at it, you two should really cross-dress as females who males will seriously fall for and smugly show it off to them! For starters, being hit on is guaranteed if Rei-senpai goes out to town as is!"

"I agree with that!"

"That is obviously an overstatement"

"No, this type of tall girl with a sharp gaze is one that I am okay with"

Come to think of it, Kenta had opened a strange door. Somehow, his gaze is......

"Hey, wait Kenta. What is up with those eyes?"

Feeling that my body is in danger, I raise my guard.

"It is a j-joke you know Rei. B-but what is this......Those eyes that look like they are looking at garbage make me feel"

"Stop right there! Any more and it will be the gray area you know Kenta-senpai"

Hey, hey. What is this development? The atmosphere will become weird in another sense if this goes on. Even Hakumine-senpai is put off.

He ain't? He seems to have broken into a warm smile.

Seemingly resolving himself to do something, Hakumine-senpai rushed into a fitting room.

The person who came out was Hakumine-senpai wearing a military uniform. He has bundled his hair, removed his make-up, and worn his glasses. In other words, he changed from Rio to his original appearance. He has reverted to Ryou Hakumine.

"Ohhh! A pretty handsome boy!!”

"Hm, hm. This sure is good!"

"But for cosplaying, a red wig is," Miya said as she grabbed a red wig but Hakumine-senpai shook his head.

"Uh-uh, this is fine. Listen everyone"

Will he finally reveal his true identity?

My body tensed up reflexively even though I already knew.

"I am......a male!!"

He said it. The thing he kept a secret until now—that he himself is a cross-dressed male; That this is not cross-dressing as a male, but merely him reverting to his original appearance. If this were the Hakumine-senpai up until now, he would have probably averted his gaze. However, the Hakumine-senpai right now is staring intently at us, waiting for our words.

"Wow, you serious," Kenta said, the first person to speak up. 

Surprised by Kenta’s words, Hakumine-senpai's body sprung up.

"Whoa, I really did not notice. Eh? You really a male?"

"U-Uh-huh"

"Wow! You only looked like a beauty you know! Whoa, amazing!!"

"Yeap, yeap. I was surprised too, my face was all weird!!"

Although I did somewhat expect it, Miya and Kenta are surprised, but it seems like they have accepted the fact that Hakumine-senpai cross-dresses.

Aone raised her thumb up high.

"E-Everyone. Do you all not feel disgusted?" Hakumine-senpai asks us nevertheless, seemingly uneasy.

"I was indeed surprised but, that is fine is it not? You were extremely cute too. Right, everyone?"

"Aw yeah! Rather, I did think that I saw you before somewhere; You are a second year from the same school as us, correct?"

Wha-!? Kenta. So you knew?

"Hakumine-senpai if I remember correctly?"

Even Miya.

"Eh? E-Everyone knows who I am?"

Even Hakumine-senpai himself is surprised by this.

Just by looking at how he spends his time in the classroom, I can tell that he spent it trying not to stand out as much as possible. He probably never thought that there were people who knew about him.

"It's only natural. What a handsome boy!, or so I noted down in my memory during the entrance ceremony after all"

"Me too, me too!"

Seriously? Even though I only knew about him recently?

That said, this is quite the receptive response. Hakumine-senpai seems to be enveloped in a somewhat joyful atmosphere.

Plans are no longer needed!, or so she might say given the sort of tension this is. It seems like it would end well though.

"Sounds good! I will let all of you hear my forte. Rei! Let us sing a duet!"

"It cannot be helped. Today is special!"

I too should fire myself up, enjoy the day, and not think about anything today, or so I thought as I put my arm around Kenta.

"Then sing a duet with me after Kenta okay!"

"Hakumine-senpai should too, together!"

"Are you a-alright with including me too?"

"Of course! The five of us should hang out to our hearts' content today!!"

"Well then! Let us be off you all!"

It has really been a long time since I went to a karaoke. I did not go to one over at the place I moved to.

So it has been three years? Well then, let me sing today, until my throat goes hoarse.

"E-Erm" Hakumine-senpai stopped us.

What is it?, or so we said at the same time.

"Both of you are still cross-dressed though"

After hearing Hakumine-senpai's words, Kenta and I looked at our respective outfits.

Come to think of it, we are still cross-dressed, or so we then remember.

"......We should change our clothes Kenta"

"Y-Yeah"
